26 Weeks Pregnant

I was 26 weeks pregnant on April 20th. 1 more week until we hit 3rd trimester!

According to thebump.com, the Traffic Cone is the size of a head of lettuce.

The Baby

Her eyes are forming and will open soon, and she has eyelashes.

Her immune system is getting ready by soaking up antibodies.

She is practicing breathing, even if it is just amniotic fluid.

She is growing a lot, around 14 in and 2 lbs. She is developing her senses as well.

The Mama

I am experiencing a lot of sleepless night due to the back pain. I have a chiropractic appointment on the 27th so I'm hoping that will help some.

Displaying IMG_20150421_175142.pngOn Wednesday I had a a lot of swelling, and it caused me a lot of pain in my calves, feet, hands and forearms, to the point that I couldn't sleep at all and it continued into Thursday. I called the birth center and they said I should not be feeling like this at this point. The school nurse took my BP and it was fine, so they said I need to stay off my feet. Not the easiest thing to do as a teacher. My body feels very achy, tired and tight all the time. I've tried baths which help while I'm in them, but when I get out it's like I never took one.

I think I have had few braxton hicks contractions this week, but I can't be sure, because I'm not sure what they are supposed to feel like.

She is still moving a lot, which I love. Her kicks are really strong, and I can feel them on my legs when I am curled in a ball. Bobby still hasn't felt her yet but he likes to listen to her swim around in the amniotic fluid. He said it sounds like I drank a lot of water and is sloshing around in my stomach. I've never heard anybody talking about that they like to listen to the baby move around, but I thought it was cool, especially since he hasn't felt her move yet.

25 Weeks Pregnant!

I was 25 weeks pregnant on April 13, 2015.

The Traffic Cone is as big as a head of cauliflower.

The Baby

She now knows which way is up and which way is down and is growing more fat and hair.

She weighs between 1.5 and 2.5 lbs and is between 13.6 and 14.8 in in length.

She is kicking up a storm and really moving all the time.

The Mama

Although I'm not having all the symptoms of a 25 week pregnant lady, I do have some, such as, constipation, back aches and trouble sleeping. The trouble sleeping is really getting to me, I have no energy by the end of the day, which makes it really hard to be motivated to clean or workout or anything. I'm having lots of hot flashes, which is driving Bobby crazy I'm sure. I'm not having much heartburn, which I am super thankful for.

I'm loving feeling all the kicks and movements it is by far my favorite part so far.

24 Weeks Pregnant and Midwife Appt!

I was 24 weeks pregnant on April 6th.

According thebump.com the Traffic Cone is the size of a canteloupe.

The Baby

Her skin is becoming less see-through and she is starting to get a pink glow.

She is still between 10.5-11.8 in long and weighs between 12.7 -20.8 oz.

The Mama

I am feeling good other than the exhaustion of work. My leg still randomly falls asleep but that is due to blood flow going to the baby. She is moving a lot, but it is still hard to feel from the outside. I have slowly started to unpack some stuff we have gotten and I finished our registry.

The Midwife Appointment

We had our 24 week appointment on April 6th.

They remeasured her stomach and it is actually a few days ahead of schedule now, so all is good on that front. Her heart beat was 145 which is good as well.

Not really much to update, I'm going to chiropractor for an adjustment on the 27th, due to my back pain and now some hip pain that is making me limp on occasion. I have gained 10lbs total, which is good for almost being 6 months pregnant. I am planning on starting to walk more and do some like strength training the coming week. I am hoping that will help my energy levels as well.

Until next time!

23 Weeks Pregnant!

I was 23 weeks pregnant on March 30th.

According to thebump.com our little girl is as big as a grapefruit!

The Baby

She is between 10.5-11.8 in long and weighs between  12.7-20.8 oz.

She is forming little nipples and her face is fully formed, she just needs some fat on it. She can hear my heartbeat and mine and Bobby's voices.

On Saturday we were driving around our hometown just looking at stuff and trying to kill time and just talking, she was kicking and punching up a storm, so I know she can definitely hear us. I feel like she moves more when Bobby is talking than when I am though. Already daddy's little girl and she isn't even here yet.

We have our next appointment on April 6th where they will re-measure her stomach since it was a little behind last time.

The Mama

I am normally a worrier to the point that I stress myself out and I have been so proud of my self since the last appointment to not let her stomach measurements stress me out.

My back is still hurting a lot, and some times it keeps me from sleeping. I also feel like the energy I was getting back over the past couple weeks is gone again, I feel as tired as I was during the 1st trimester. I can tell that I am standing different trying to keep my balance and that I am leaning back more, because at the end of the day my heels will hurt like I have been standing on them all day.

I still get round ligament pain here and there but nothing like it was several weeks ago.

I am slowly starting to get her room ready, I'm just trying to get through STAAR testing for the next two weeks at work and then I will hit her stuff harder.

This week I can actually feel kicks and punches and you can feel them from the outside too! Bobby hasn't been able to feel yet, because she will kick a few times and then I will put my hand there and she will stop, but I know he will be able to soon!

Only one more 4 week block of appointments and then we start to go every 2 weeks!

I am really looking forward to our appointment on the 6th, especially since we will get to see her again, and as long as everything looks good that will be the last time until she is born.

Dads and Daughters

I found this link to an article about Dads and their daughters and since we are having a girl I went ahead and read it. I really liked what it had to say and somethings I had never thought about in that way, so I wanted to share it!
