Emma's 3rd Birthday Party (Finding Dory Theme)

Emma turned 3 on July 30th, 2018. This was the first year that she chose her party theme and she chose Finding Dory. Since Blake was still so young, only 3 months old, I just got a premade pack from Party City and ordered her cake. We also had the party at my mom's house, so again I didn't have to worry about cleaning my house to be party ready.

I clearly was not as put together in everything for this party as the previous years. We are just going to chalk that up to life with newborn.

Family Pictures: Spring 2018 (Blake Newborn)

We found local mom who also happens to be a part of the Down syndrome community who took Blake's newborn pictures, it was tad hot being in Texas in the middle of June, but we made it work. (Spoiler, it was cold for our Fall pictures in December, hoping for Blake's one year pictures the weather is better).

Emma is going through a weird smile phase and it is driving me crazy a little bit and she always leans forward. I am glad it is just a phase.

Emma Meeting Blake

Emma wasn't sure what to think about Blake in the beginning she liked him when we weren't holding him.

Emma: 2 Year Well Visit

Emma had her 2 year well visit at the beginning of August. She is healthy and growing just like she should.

Here are her stats:

• Height: 34.25 in (71%)
• Weight: 26 lbs 11 oz (51%)
• Head: 18.9 in (64 %)

She is doing great in everything, talking like she should and has no signs of autism. We talked about potty training and some tips to help that along, but she said not to push her, she will get it eventually.

She loves the fish tank in the doctor's office!

Emma: 24 Months Old

Emma turned 24 months old on July 30th, 2017. This will be her last developmental post. According to "What to Expect the Toddler Years" here is where Emma is in her development. 

This month Emma is able to do everything a two year old should be able to do including:

• take off an article of clothing
• "feed" a doll
• build a tower of 4 cubes
• identify two items in a picture by pointing

She can also do everything a toddler her age will probably be able to do including:

• build a tower of 6 cubes
• throw a ball overhand
• speak and be understood half the time
• identify 1 item in a picture by naming
• identify 4 items in a picture by pointing

She can also do everything children her age may possibly be able to do including:

• jump up
• put on an article of clothing

Lastly, Emma can do everything a 24 month old may even be able to do including:

• draw a vertical line in imitation
• build a tower of 8 cubes
• carry on a conversation of 2 or 3 sentences

Emma: 2nd Birthday

Because we were in the middle of moving we actually had Emma's 2nd birthday party a couple of weeks early. It was super low key and a lot of fun.

It was Milk and Cookies themed.

The cake was a pain! I ordered a cookie cake from Sam's and went to get it 2 hours before the party and they hadn't even baked the cookie yet. I was so mad that they hadn't called. Bobby had to make a 2nd trip up there and we only had the cake about 20 to 30 minutes early. They didn't even offer to discount it.

Cleaning before the party is always interesting. I don't understand how under out couch gets so dirty. 

Emma had a blast and we are so thankful for everyone who came out to celebrate her!

 After a day full of fun you gotta go out for a good meal!
